Technical Support Engineer - L2 (Greece)

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor loading processes and ensure seamless database operations, especially in Oracle environments.
  • Handle Incident and Service Request (SR) tickets escalated from Level 1 Support, focusing on database-related issues.
  • Prioritize and resolve cases with a focus on database performance and optimization.
  • Perform bug fixes and implement workarounds, including writing and debugging database scripts where necessary.
  • Maintain and update technical documentation, particularly for database structures and custom scripts.
  • Plan and assess the impact of change requests, especially those involving database configurations and system performance.
  • Execute approved change requests, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to communicate changes and ensure all relevant information is shared.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in technical support or a related field, with a focus on PL/SQL and Oracle databases.
  • Proven hands-on experience in PL/SQL for writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting scripts.
  • Familiarity with other RDBMSs (Microsoft SQL Server, IBM Netezza, IBM DB2, Teradata) is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in a Level 2 support role is preferred.
  • Strong skills in handling incident and service request tickets, with the ability to troubleshoot database issues effectively.
  • Excellent prioritization and time-management abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality of work, particularly in database operations.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
