As a Databricks Technical Lead, you will be responsible for:

Leading and mentoring a team of Databricks engineers and supporting their technical and professional development

Coordinating and growing the Adastra’s Databricks community by promoting collaboration, knowledge sharing, and technical best practices

Acting as a bridge between technical teams, stakeholders, and project management to ensure smooth communication and delivery

Designing, developing, and optimizing scalable data pipelines and data processing solutions using Azure Databricks, PySpark, and Delta Lake
-
Providing hands-on technical guidance and support on Databricks implementations and troubleshooting activities

Collaborating with data engineers, analysts, architects, and business teams to deliver high-quality cloud data solutions

Participating in project delivery activities while maintaining a strong balance between leadership and hands-on technical contribution
Profile Requirements
For this position of Databricks Technical Lead, we are looking for someone with:
-
4+ years of hands-on experience with Azure Databricks, including PySpark, notebooks, workflows/jobs, cluster management, Delta Lake, Delta Live Tables, and Unity Catalog

Strong proficiency in Python and SQL

Experience delivering data engineering or analytics projects on Databricks Platform
-
Good understanding of modern data engineering concepts, cloud-native platforms (Azure and/or AWS), and distributed data processing frameworks

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect easily with team members and stakeholders
-
Proven experience mentoring, coaching, or training technical teams and junior engineers
-
Good understanding of CI/CD practices, DevOps methodologies, and version control tools such as Git for managing and deploying Databricks and cloud-based data solutions

Good to Have - Databricks certifications (e.g. Databricks Data Engineer Associate or Professional)
